Bangs are Hot AGAIN This Year

It is the return (as if they went anywhere) of the hair bang. Many celebrities are adding a full hair bang to their hairstyle for an updated look.  Wispy and side swept bangs are also popular.  See Liz Hurley, photo left.

This siren of the screen carries off this classy look to perfection. Liz's hair has been layered to create a soft and full style which boasts body and bounce. The soft bangs have been parted on the side to create a softer look for the face, and is a flattering option for longer face shapes and high foreheads.

THE Dress & a special guest

I finally got chance to wear the dress!

As most of you who follow me on Twitter will know, I was struck down by the dreaded flu bug over Christmas and New Year. I'd purchased this dress to actually wear New Years Eve, but was unfortunately too poorly to go out. Resulting in this little rust number getting neglected in my wardrobe.

I thought to myself that I owed it to the dress to wear it out on a special night (not just any old night out), it had to be a special one. And what better night to choose than my sister's 21st birthday? You don't get more special than that.

Words can simply not describe how much I adore this dress. I love everything about it, the gorgeous rusty colour, the material, the structuring, the huge shoulder detail. It is probably my favourite dress of all time. Oh dress, I hope the feeling is mutual.

As you've all read in the title of this post, you're probably wondering who my special guest is?
With her debut Lauren's Dressing Room outfit post, I like to introduce to you all, my gorgeous little sister, Elyse. She's 21 today! Happy Birthday! Isn't she stunning?

I love my sister millions!

No7 Pink Grapefruit nail colour

No7 Nail colour - Pink Grapefruit

Just, wow. Pink Grapefruit by No7 is currently my favourite nail polish. I happened to stumble upon this colour by complete accident.

Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin my Pink Grapefruit discovery story...

Whilst doing my monthly toiletries shop in my local Boots, I popped all my essentials into my basket, and toddled off to the checkout queue. As soon as I was greeted by the lovely checkout lady, I was instantly drawn in by her amazing nail colour - like a moth to a flame! Not wanting to miss out on the opportunity of knowing what this adorable colour was, I decided to ask her. To which she replied "You can get it here! It's by No7!"

As quick as a flash, I'd paid for my items, dashed off around the corner to find the said nail varnish and skipped back into the checkout queue. I left Boots feeling really happy and content with my new eye catching nail polish.

Do any of you own this polish? What do you think?

The basic chunky knit

This is officially the last post with my camera propped up on a rubbish side cabinet. From now on, I'll be using my new camera tripod - eeeek excitement! I've already taken a couple of outfit posts with my tripod and they look much more professional, clearer and better quality. Also, not forgetting that all my background mess will be cut out of the picture, giving you a much more simplified look at the outfit I'm wearing.

I'm currently loving Primark's chunky knitwear...

Somewhere over the rainbow

Being somewhat of an eyeshadow enthusiast and a self-confessed Elf addict, I arrived at the conclusion that it was only right that I owned the new 100 shadows palette by Eyes Lips Face.

My lovely friend heard my cries for this eyeshadow set, and kindly asked Father Christmas to bring me one. On Christmas day, it was like unwrapping a rainbow as every colour of the spectrum oozed out of the Christmassy wrapping paper.

I couldn't wait to share the beautiful medley of colours with you all;

Wishlist - January Edition

As part of the New Year, I've decided to add a few new features to my blog including my new monthly wish list post. I'm constantly browsing through websites online and saving little pictures of what I'm currently lusting over - and figured I would share it with you guys!

So, welcome to my first monthly wish list post! The January edition.

(To visit the links, click on the titles below)

Birdy Blouse
I'm all for a delicate and girly blouse, so when I came across this gorgeous swallow printed blouse from New Look, I instantly fell in love. This has been on my wish list for a couple of weeks now and I was lucky enough to stumble across is in my local New Look. It looks great teamed with jeggings or even tucked into a skirt or high waisted shorts. I think it's really multi-wearable and looks great worn in a casual way or more dressed up. I'll hopefully include this blouse in an upcoming outfit post for you all to see.

MAC Eyelashes
I've always fluttered my lids whilst sporting Eylure's 107 Glamour lashes. But as of late, I've been looking for something a little more dramatic (but not, draggy - lets just point that out). I've never really thought about purchasing MAC false lashes before, but after seeing a photo of a girl I know on Facebook sporting a pair and longing to achieve the same fluttery effect, I decided that these MAC eyelashes in '12' must feature on my wish list. I am, however, a MAC eyelash virgin and am rather looking forward to popping my falsies cherry. Have any of you worn these lashes before, and how do you rate them? I'd love to know.

Jeans
To be honest, as of late, I've pretty much avoided wearing jeans completely. I sometimes think you can fall into a rut with them and not wear anything else apart from jeans, jeans and more jeans. This in mind, I have fallen into the 'leggings rut' - it's all I seem to wear. With Spring to be approaching soon, I decided to add these jeans to my investment list. They'll look great with the s/s11 colour trends.

Malene Birger Bangles
After being introduced to these crazy Malene Birger bangles on the lovely Claire's blog, I was super excited to get hold of some myself. I love accessories that are a little bit different and scream 'unique' - very much like these bangles.

Leaf Coral Stone Ring
These are currently out of stock! I could cry!
If any of you are familiar with the YSL Arty Oval ring, you'll see just how similar this Topshop ring really is! I'll be checking to see if they hopefully get anymore back in stock. *Fingers crossed*

Strolling with the Hill Billies

I'm not sure if I've broken all the unwritten rules of fashion with this little outfit post, or if I've just completely made up my own rules all together. Either way, I was quite pleased with my pattern clashing 'hill billy' look (as I like to call it).

Some people state not to pattern clash, but I couldn't resit teaming this checked shirt and leopard print head band together. It just felt right.

The shirt itself is actually from the Men's section in Primark - I just bought it in a size XS yo make sure it fit OK. As most of you who regularly read my blog will know, I love customising and wearing men's clothing. It adds a little bit of creativeness and edge to an outfit.

Tshirt - All Saints
Checked shirt - Primark (Men's section)
Combat trousers - H&M
Boots - All Saints
Hair band - Primark

Double cross ring - ASOS
Nail varnish - Coral polish by Eyeko
Lipstick - MAC Vegas Volt

What do you think to clashing patterns?

Review: Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

Who here craves beautiful soft radiant skin?

I expect to see a flurry of hands raised. I for one, am most certainly one of those people. In a bid to find the secret to amazing skin, I was approached by the lovely team at Liz Earle and asked if I would like to try out their Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. I was very much intrigued by the idea and jumped at the chance to try out this cleanser.

The Product: Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser
Price: £13.25 for the 100ml pump starter kit

The starter kit included: 100ml Cleanser, Muslin cloth, small Liz Earle carry pouch.

I was also kindly sent lots of brochures and books to read up on Liz Earle products. I found them really helpful when using this product.

The Product Description:
"The original, multi award-winning, concentrated cleanser. Used with the pure muslin cloth, it quickly removes everyday grime and make-up, including stubborn mascara, to leave all skin types soft and smooth. Radiance boosting and packed with naturally active ingredients, try this best-selling cult classic today." - Liz Earle.

Directions:
"Our plant-based cleanser has a 2-phase action, Phase 1 is the cleansing. Free from mineral oil, it has a rich and creamy texture and swiftly removes all traces of face and eye make-up, even stubborn mascara.

Phase 2 is the polishing. Polish off the cream using the pure muslin cloth to help gently dislodge dead skin cells and help reveal clean, soft and radiant skin.
Use morning and night with pure muslin cloths to reveal fresh, radiant skin." - Liz Earle

What do I think?:

I've never really been much of a lotions and potions type of girl. When it comes to my skincare routine, it's pretty much very simple and straight forward - baby wipes and moisturising. Anytime that I've pushed the boat out and opted for some kind of cleanser/toner etc, I've always ended up breaking out as my skin isn't used to it all. So, I was a little nervous about trying the Liz Earle cleanser for the same reasons.
I found the actual usage of the product really quick, easy and straight forward. The great thing about the Cleanse & Polish is that it's good for quick fixing and immediate results. As soon as I've finished the cleansing ritual, my skin instantly felt smoother. I was really pleased that it was suitable for all skin types as it moisturised the areas which needed it and also evened up any oily patches. An all round great product.

Would I re-purchase?:
Yes, most definitely.

Proud to be British

I stumbled across this gorgeous little clutch bag at a Sunday Market a couple of months ago. I love anything with the Union Jack flag printed on, so as you can imagine I fell in love with this straight away. I kept the rest of my outfit very minimalistic (for a change).

Clutch - Market stall
Boots - Garage

Soap & Glory 3 for 2 offer

Over the Christmas period, during all my regular shopping dashes for last minute presents, I couldn't help but be lured over by the 3 for 2 offer that was on at Soap & Glory. Being a huge Soap & Glory fan, it wasn't long before I'd been pulled over to the sweet smelling shopping isle by nothing more than temptation.

Some people aren't as fond on Soap & Glory as others, but I personally love their products. I adore the packaging and how it has a retro feel to it. I also love the fragrance of their products, as I'm a fan of anything that smells 'good enough to eat'.

After a lot of decision making (and even chatting with other shoppers about their fave S&G products), I finally made my mind up, picked up a delightful little pink bag and began filling it up with goodies.

Even though I felt slightly spoilt for choice and had to clamp down on myself (in order to make sure I didn't go a tad bit silly with the spending), I picked up these three little treasures:

Soap & Glory Big Butter Blueberry Thrill
Soap & Glory Hand Food
Soap & Glory Clean on Me shower gel

I've used the 'Bluberry Big Butter' and 'Hand Food' many times in the past, but I decided to also give 'Clean on Me' a whirl. My boyfriend has just recently moved into his own house, so I figured it would be perfect to take over to his when I have a shower. I don't think he'd be too happy if I started using his Lynx body wash, nor would I be happy with smelling like a boy.

Have you indulged in the Soap & Glory offers lately? If so, what have you bought? What are your favourite products of theirs? Do you even like Soap & Glory products?

I'd love to hear your thoughts..
