DIY: Cross T-shirt

In a couple of outfit posts back, I'm sure you will remember the DIY Cross T-shirt I was sporting? After discovering Penelope's blog, I was instantly inspired to re-create the safety in t-shirt. You should really check out her blog - she has amazing style!

Here I am sporting the said T-shirt;

On a boring lazy Sunday, I decided to get snip happy and funk up a little tee I had. I'm always buying Men's clothing to cut up and customise as most of you who have read my blog for a while will realise.

First of all, you'll need a plain black Men's round neck t-shirt.

I then simply cut the neck into a 'V' shape and cut off the sleeves to create a vest top.

Next you will need safety pins - I chose the medium sized ones. You'll probably need approximately 50 all together.

Find the center of the T-shirt after cutting, and use three safety pins to determine the top, middle and bottom of your first line of pins. This is so that your safety pin line wont be too wobbly. Once you have this, add all the other safety pins to form a line. Make sure all your safety pins are facing the same direction.

Next, clip in your side safety pins. Again, using the same method to remain as in line as you can.

Depending on how much material you put each safety pin through will determine how slanted the may fall as you wear it. I gave my pins a little space so that they can drop to their sides slightly.

And voila! There you have it;

A super-easy way to customise your t-shirts.

I hope you enjoyed this little pop of DIY, I'd love to be linked to any DIY projects you've carried out. Another couple of great DIY blogs are: Gem Fatale's Style Blog and Effie's Makeup Box.

NOTE: My poor, poor little computer has a nasty virus at the moment which has completely wiped my computer of all it's programs/documents etc. Which means I've lost all of my upcoming blog post photos, can't even use the Internet, and can barely switch it on. My computer is literally just an ornament sitting in my house with no purpose at the moment. Bad times.
So, I'm having to borrow my boyfriend's laptop as and when I can - so blog posts may be scarce until I get my computer fixed. I may just buy a laptop myself, I'm not sure yet. It's just rather annoying as you can imagine, so please bare with me. Thanks girls!
