Lace Fabric Sweater




My lace fabric sweater pattern is a great addition to your wardrobe of winter clothes.

This beautiful jacket is worked in a design that will complement many outfits.

The casual ties allow an attractive blouse to be shown off underneath. Sweaters of this nature are suitably worn with skirts, pants, jeans, or over a warm winter dress.

Lace Fabric Sweater Instructions

Materials: Approximately 500g, 550g, or 600g [depending on the size chosen] 4ply yarn using 2.5mm and 3.0mm crochet hooks.

Measurements: [1] Fits bust 86-89cm [34-35ins], [2] Fits bust 97-99cm [36-39ins], [3] Fits bust 107-109cm [42-43ins].

[1] Approximately 53cm [20.75ins] long, [2] Approximately 54cm [21.25ins] long, [3] Approximately 55cm [21.75ins] long.

Tension: 4 rows = approximately 3.2cm [1.25ins].

Stitches: Chain, Double Crochet, Treble, Double Treble, Slip Stitch.

Using 3.0mm hook, work [1] 232ch, [2] 256ch, [3] 280ch.

1st Row: Work 1tr into 4th ch from hook, *miss 2ch, [1tr, 2ch, 1tr in next ch]. Repeat from * to last ch. 2tr in last ch. Turn.

2nd Row: Work 1dc, 1ch into first tr. *[3tr, 1ch, 3tr] in next 2ch sp, miss next 2ch sp. Repeat from * to last 2tr and turning ch. Miss 2tr, 1tr in top of turning ch. Turn.

3rd Row: Work 1dc, 1ch into first tr, *miss 3tr, [1tr, 2ch, 1tr in next ch]. Repeat from * to turning ch. 2tr in top of turning ch. Turn.

2nd & 3rd rows form lace fabric pattern. Continue in pattern until lace fabric measures 31cm [12.25ins] finishing with a 2nd row.

Working in lace fabric pattern, divide for fronts and back.

Right Front Lace Fabric Sweater

1st Row: Work 1dc, 1ch, 1tr in first tr, miss 3tr, *[1tr, 2ch, 1tr in next 2ch sp], miss 3tr. Repeat from * 13 [15 or 17] times, 1dtr in next 1ch sp.

2nd Row: Work 1dc, 2ch into first dtr. Miss 5sts, [3tr, 1ch, 3tr]. Continue in pattern to end. Turn.

3rd Row: Work in pattern to last 4 sts, miss 3tr, 1dtr in top of turning ch. Turn.

4th Row: Work [1dc, 2ch] in 1st dtr, miss 1tr, 3tr in next 2ch sp. Continue in pattern to end of row. Turn.

5th Row: Work as 3rd row.

For size [3] only – Repeat rows 3, 4, & 5.

For all sizes – Repeat 2nd row.

Work 10 rows without shaping.

Neckline

1st Row: Sl st across first 8 sts. 1dc, 2ch in sp between shells, miss 3tr. Work in pattern to end. Turn.

2nd Row: Work in pattern to last 2 groups. Miss next group, 3tr in next group, miss 1tr, 1dtr in top of turning ch. Turn.

3rd Row: Work 1dc, 2ch in top of 1st dtr, miss 3tr. Work in pattern to end. Turn.

4th Row: Work in pattern to last 6 sts, miss 5 sts, 1dtr in top of turning ch. Turn.

5th Row: Work as 3rd row.

For sizes [1] & [2] – Repeat rows 2, 3, & 4. Work 2 rows without shaping.

For size [3] – Repeat rows 2, 3, 4, 5, & 2.

Work 1dc, 1ch into first dtr, *miss 3tr, [1tr, 2ch, 1tr in next ch]. Repeat from * to end. Turn.

Work in lace fabric pattern to last 2 groups. Miss next group, 3tr in next 2ch sp, miss 1tr, 1tr in top of turning ch. Fasten off

Back Lace Fabric Sweater

With right side facing, miss next 27 sts.

1st Row: Attach yarn and work 1dc, 2ch in next 1ch sp, miss 3tr, * [1tr, 2ch, 1tr in next ch], miss 3tr. Repeat from * to end. Turn.

2nd Row: Work 1dc, 2ch in top of 1st dtr, miss 5 sts. Work in pattern to end. Turn.

3rd Row: Work 1dc, 2ch in top of 1st dtr, miss 3 tr. Work in pattern to last 3tr, miss 3tr, 1dtr in top of turning ch. Turn.

4th Row: Work 1dc, 2ch in top of 1st dtr, miss 1tr, 3tr in next 2ch sp. Work in pattern to last 2 groups, miss next group, 3tr in next 2ch sp, miss 1tr, 1dtr in top of turning ch. Turn.

5th Row: Work as 3rd row. For sizes [1] & [2] - Repeat 2nd row

For size [3] – Repeat rows 2, 3, 4,5, & 2.

Work 20 rows lace fabric pattern without shaping. Fasten off.

Left Front Lace Fabric Sweater

With right side facing, miss next 27 sts, attach yarn and work to match right front.

Sleeves

Using 3.00mm hook, work 64ch [1], 70ch [2], 76ch [3].

1st Row: Work 1tr into 4th ch from hook, *miss 2ch, [1tr, 2ch, 1tr in next ch]. Repeat from * to last ch. 2tr in last ch. Turn.

2nd Row: Work 1dc, 1ch into first tr. *[3tr, 1ch, 3tr] in next 2ch sp, miss next 2ch sp. Repeat from * to last 2tr and turning ch. Miss 2tr, 1tr in top of turning ch. Turn.

3rd Row: Work 1dc, 1ch into first tr, *miss 3tr, [1tr, 2ch, 1tr in next ch]. Repeat from * to turning ch. 2tr in top of turning ch. Turn.

2nd & 3rd rows form pattern.

4th Row: Work as 2nd row.

5th Row: Work as 3rd row.

6th Row: Work as 2nd row.

9th Row: Work [1dc, 2ch, 1tr, 1ch, 1tr] in first tr, miss 3tr, *[1tr, 2ch, 1tr in next sp]. Repeat from * to turning ch. Work [1tr, 1ch, 1tr, 1dtr] in top of turning ch. Turn.

19th Row: Work [1dc, 4ch, 1tr] in top of 1st dtr, miss 2 tr, *[1tr, 2ch, 1tr] in next sp. Repeat from * to last 3sts, miss [1tr, 2ch, 1dtr], in top of turning ch. Turn.

20th Row: Work [1dc, 2ch] into first dtr, *[3tr, 1ch, 3tr] in next 2ch sp. Repeat from * to last 6 sts and turning ch loop. Miss 6 sts, [3tr, 1ch, 3tr] in turning ch loop, 1dtr in 3rd ch of turning ch loop. Turn.

Work 8 rows without shaping.

21st – 32nd Row: Work 9th – 20th rows.

Continue in pattern without shaping until sleeve measures 1.5cm [.5in] less than required length, finishing with a 2nd row.

Sl st across 1st 4 sts, [1dc, 2ch] in next 1ch sp, miss 3tr, *[1tr, 2ch, 1tr] in next sp. Repeat from * to last 8sts, miss 3tr, 1dtr in next 1ch sp. Turn.

2nd Row: ***Work 1dc, 2ch in top of 1st dtr, miss 5 sts. Work in pattern to end. Turn.

3rd Row: Work 1dc, 2ch in top of 1st dtr, miss 3 tr. Work in pattern to last 3tr, miss 3tr, 1dtr in top of turning ch. Turn.

4th Row: Work 1dc, 2ch in top of 1st dtr, miss 1tr, 3tr in next 2ch sp. Work in pattern to last 2 groups, miss next group, 3tr in next 2ch sp, miss 1tr, 1dtr in top of turning ch. Turn.

5th Row: Work as 3rd row.***

Repeat from *** to *** 3 [1], 4 [2], 4 [3] times.

Work rows 2-4 [1], row 2 [2], rows 2-4 [3]. Fasten off.

Using a darning needle and yarn, sew lace fabric shoulder and sleeves using a flat seam. Place sleeve seam to center underarm and sew in using backstitch.

Using 2.5mm hook, work 5 rounds of dc around all edges and cuffs. Work 3dc into each corner dc.

Work ties from corners of neckline by working [4dc wide, turn] until required length is reached. Fasten off.

Materials: 4 balls white 8ply synthetic yarn, 5.00mm crochet hook.

Measurements: 180cm [72ins] wide, 108cm [43 ins] deep.

Tension: 3 shells – 23cm [9ins] wide, 3 rows – 12cm [4.75] deep.

Stitches: Chain, Triple Treble, Double Crochet, Slip Stitch.

Begin by working 262 ch.

1st Row: Work 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, * miss 4ch, into next ch work [1trip tr, 1ch] 6 times, 1trip tr, miss 4ch, 1dc into next ch. Repeat from * to end. 26 groups. Turn.

2nd Row: Ss to ctr of 1st group, * 7ch, 1trip tr into dc, 7ch, 1dc into 4th trip tr of next group. Repeat from * to ctr of last group. Turn.

3rd Row: Work 1ch, 1dc into 1st dc, * into next trip tr work [1trip tr, 1ch] 6 times, 1trip tr, 1dc into dc. Repeat from * to end. Turn.

Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows until 1 group remains. Fasten off.
