Haul February 2012: Primark & Republic

I recently popped down to my local shopping centre for a little peruse around. There wasn't anything in particular that I'd wanted to pick up, but I just decided to have a shop around anyways. I went into most of the shops but ended up buying from Republic and Primark. I picked up a bargain actually! Here's what I bought;

Republic Aztec Cardigan - £25

I've actually been wanting some kind of Aztec jumper for a while now, so when I stumbled across this one at £25 from Republic, I grabbed it straight away. I actually bought this in a large so that it is nice and cosy, rather than being fitted. I like cardigans to be a lot more of a loose fit.

Primark bodycon dress - £10

I do feel as though Primark has become more expensive over this last year, so when I found this dress at £10 I thought it was quite a bargain considering. I like the mesh detailing around the chest as it isn't too revealing. Plus, you can never go wrong with a little black dress.

Primark Leopard print pencil skirt - £8

I love this and everything about it! Can't wait to wear it for a night out. I really want to wear it in the day time with tights, but I'm a little unsure of what to team it with for day wear, so if you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them.

Republic shoes - £15

Last but certainly not least, my favourite purchase of the day. These glitter ball shoes fulfil every shoe destiny! I love everything about them, and the great thing too is that they're so comfy (believe it or not!). Cannot wait to put them on my feet.

And finally, I would like to make an announcement. My Boyfriend and I have officially moved into our first home together! I moved all of my belongings in over the weekend, so I'm all settled in. Just in time for Valentines Day, which was lovely. It has been a lovely couple of days organising all of our things and doing typical house things; i.e - doing our first 'Big Shop' together.

I'm hoping to get up some kind of House Tour blog post up at some point, and I also have my own dressing room! Just like my blog - Lauren's Dressing Room. It's real! Ha ha. I'll also be doing an updated makeup/vanity set up storage post too.

If you have any requests of upcoming posts you'd like to see, I'd be really happy for you to request them in the comments below.

Shorty

Jumper: Vila c/o MeeMee, Shorts: ASOS, Tights: Dorothy Perkins, Boots: Jeffrey Campbell c/o Sarenza.

This was Saturday's attire, until I noticed the gaping hole on the waist of the shorts at least...I'm so accident prone, another one for the sewing pile!

Happy mid-week!

Canadian diamonds- the hot type of diamonds

Diamonds, the most valuable gemstone and at the same time it gives a beautiful look when it is designed as a jewel. I think no much more explanation needed about it. Then what we are going to discuss. We will see a hot type of diamonds called Birks Canadian diamonds. The Canadian diamonds are the new alternative to people who need some comfortable buying pieces without any conflict. There are several world class diamond mines are available, but Canada contribution to the diamond market is enormous. They also have quality, attractive pieces of diamond and the Canadian diamond looks gorgeous in its excellent cuts.

When considering diamond as a jewel, most of us prefer for rings and that too diamond rings are popular. Engagement is a precious moment for a man and women and many thoughts would be running in the mind of you of how to get an attractive diamond engagement ring. You would be searching here and there to get a quality ring that makes your life precious. Being the best contributor to the diamond industry in the past few years, the Canadian diamonds is what most of them preferred. As said above, it has all the valuable and remarkable characteristics. Dupe Series: MAC Creme Cup Lipstick

I'm very aware that not all people can afford higher end makeup brands, so when we stumbled across a good bargain it's great to share, huh? Everybody loves a bargain! Especially a bargain which is a good high end duplicate.

I've decided to start up a Dupe Series on my blog, where every time I stumble across a great product which is very similar to a higher end brand - I'll do my best to tell you all about it.

First up, is one of my favourite MAC lipsticks, Creme Cup. Being a subtle creamy pink tone, Creme Cup is very wearable for all skin tones. I'm sure most of you are familiar with the makeup brand Elf. After browsing their website, I came across one of their Mineral lipsticks in the shade Runway Pink.

Left: ELF Lipstick - Runway Pink £3.50
Right: MAC Lipstick - Creme Cup £13.50

As you can see, the lipsticks are very similar. I do feel that they look more alike when applied to the lips. The only difference I seem to notice is that Creme Cup is a more moisturising finish, where as Runway Pink is more matte, but not at all drying.

For a huge chunk of the price off (a whole £10 less), it's no surprise why I'm loving the Elf range.

What do you think to this dupe? What are your favourite lipstick dupes? Have you ever used Elf mineral lipsticks before?
