Halloween Tutorial: Open Flesh Wrist Wound

Halloween is slowly creeping up on us, and then, before you know it........ BOO! It's here. *evil cackle*

I love Halloween and all that comes with it; scary costumes, crazy makeup, carving pumpkins and spooky stories. I decided to have a little play around with some makeup and fake blood. What I resulted with, was a damn scary realistic wrist slash! Eeeek!

So, here is a step-by-step tutorial on how to create and open wound this Halloween.

What you will need:

Foundation, powder, fake blood, liquid latex, black eye pencil, scissors, tweezers, cuticle stick, tissue.

Step 1:

Cover the selected area in liquid latex. Then lay on a layer of tissue, cover with another layer of liquid latex and repeat this with another layer of tissue. Wait 3-5mins until dry.

Step 2:

Once dried, apply foundation to make the 'blob' skin coloured. Blend in the edges.

Step 3:

The foundation alone will look shiny, so to matt it down, use face powder to set it with a kabuki brush.

 Step 4:

Using a cuticle stick, break through the set 'skin' and scrape back to make a peeling effect. Continue this until you have the desired effect.

Step 5:
Using the scissors trim off any unwanted areas, and use the tweezers to carefully pull open the scar wound without ripping.

Step 6:

To make the cut appear deep, apply black pencil eyeliner to all the areas which are intended to look 'open'.

 Step 7:
Add some fake blood and voila! You have an eerie yucky open wound!

Just another photo to gross you all out!

I actually ran downstairs screaming to my Mum showing her this! You should have seen the look on her face - Priceless!!

Anyways, I how you have found this a helpful tutorial. I'll hopefully have more Halloween posts for you soon... So stay tuned...
